Trump focuses on Nicki Minaj’s ‘beautiful’ rear, AOC and owning Greenland in marathon rally speech
‘I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before – Nicki Minaj,’ Trump said as a crowd of his supporters in Michigan roared
What the coverage shows
The outlets converge on Trump’s Michigan rally and on Nicki Minaj as a notable feature of the coverage, with The Guardian US and The Independent both foregrounding his remarks about her appearance. The Independent runs with multiple Trump flourishes in its headline, while NBC News instead centers the rally on Islamophobic rhetoric and a direct attack on Abdul El-Sayed, a detail that appears only in its extract. 60 Minutes frames the event more broadly as campaign-season context, rather than on the Minaj angle or Trump’s comments.
