France and Canada deepen economic and defense ties

French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney have announced plans to deepen economic ties between their countries following a meeting at the weekend. Macron welcomed Carney in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, a French territory off the coast of Canada’s Newfoundland.
