The stunning raid on Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home
It has the makings of political intimidation, say some legal experts.
The Hill
What the coverage shows
Most outlets converge on the basic frame that federal agents searched Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Washington home as part of a criminal or immigration-related investigation. Fox News, Reason, Axios, CBS News, and 60 Minutes are the clearest in emphasizing immigration fraud or paperwork as the probe’s apparent focus, while NPR, NBC News, The Guardian US, PBS NewsHour, and The Independent foreground Omar’s response and her claims of political intimidation. Only The New York Times explicitly highlights the midterm-election timing, and AP repeatedly says the details of the investigation remain unclear.
