Black candidates for governor make history with midterm victories
Americans elected the country's first Black woman, and four other Black candidates, into gubernatorial roles during Tuesday's record midterm races.
What the coverage shows
Fox News frames the coverage around a broader set of historic firsts, naming Donalds as set to become Florida’s first Black governor and El-Sayed as the first Muslim U.S. senator, while CBS News centers on gubernatorial wins. CBS is the only outlet here to specify that Americans elected the country’s first Black woman and three other Black candidates into governor roles.
