Inside Trump’s four-hour dinner with Bill Maher, Stephen A Smith and Kid Rock: ‘I’m on like beer seven’

What the coverage shows

Both outlets center on Trump’s White House dinner with Bill Maher, Stephen A. Smith and Kid Rock, and both quote or paraphrase remarks from people present. Fox News frames it through Trump’s own account and his claim that critics “like Trump” in private, while The Independent foregrounds Stephen A. Smith’s description of a long, argumentative dinner and, in its headline, the “beer seven” quip. Fox News also has a separate earlier item focused just on Kid Rock’s “inside scoop,” which is unique to Fox.
